Books, books and more books

If you have Christian books kicking around the house that you are no longer reading, bring them to Women of Heart.  And we will pass them along to Appleseed.

Just outside Appleseed there are carts with second hand books and the funds made from the sale of these books are put towards the church library.

As well, are you looking for good reads and just not sure where to find them?  Well, give us some time for we are trying to compile a "Good Reads" page on our blog. So, if you have Christian titles and authors you want to share with our community, write a quick review, give it a rating out of five and email us your  suggestions.

Thanks.

Women of Heart Brunch "Let Your Light Shine" April 5, 2012

You are invited to brunch and please feel free to invite friends! Tomorrow morning we will be having our brunch wrapping up our winter term. Childcare will be provided. (There is no cost for this event.)

When: April 5, 2012 9:15 - 11:15am
Where: Centre Street Church central campus Chapel, West Entrance 3900, 2nd St. NE

Centerpieces for Sale

The centerpieces on each table are for sale at a price of $40 for one lantern or $60 for two. They are handcrafted works of art in the form of Japanese lanterns originally made for a personal fundraiser for Japanese Tsunami relief. We have purchased 30 of them to resell. The artist/designer Mike Neufeld was introduced to us by Chris Reid and is donating that amount in its entirety for Tsunami relief. He is glad to use his craftsman gift to benefit a cause of our choice.

We have the opportunity to engage our project which is Funding for Respite Events that are hosted by CSC Special Needs Ministry. All the money we receive through the sale of these lanterns will go to that cause. We will be learning more about this ministry in our Spring Term.

Please be our ambassadors to let people at your table know about this - and your class if you're able to send a note today. Chris will describe the offer during announcements and we have the atm machine booked so we can accept payment that way.
